Vocational & Technical Training Institute in Muzaffargarh, Punjab

The Institute was established in 2012 with the aim of empowering underprivileged women by enabling them to build crucial life skills and earn a sustainable income. The CARE Vocational & Technical Training Institute is significant as it is the only institution in the area that provides a platform to develop key technical, entrepreneurship and business skills, critical to helping young women lift themselves and their families out of poverty. To date, the Institute has trained over 200 women in the following courses: Hand Embroidery, Dress Making/Tailoring and Smocking. The centre also gives women a stipend so that they become empowered and start utilising the acquired skills in the best way possible.

“I want to thank CARE for giving me useful skills and empowering me to stand on my own feet. I am now able to send my children to school and support my family very well.”
Zareen bibi, Trainee

“Having my own tailoring shop and boutique seemed like a dream, but it was made possible by the opportunity offered by CARE’s vocational center. I finally saw my family not only survive, but also prosper.  I want to share my success story so that it motivates all those women who want to break the shackles of poverty and help support their families.”
